Born in 1947, resident in Milan but originally from Valcamonica, he is undoubtedly an all-round artist. In his long career he has explored almost all forms of communication with the aim of trying to understand the mystery that is the human soul. Attracted and fascinated by the world of childhood, since 1978 he has published countless fairy tale books, short and long stories, nursery rhymes, poems, theater texts, extracurricular texts, readaptations of stories from Italian and foreign popular tradition. He has won numerous literary awards (including the prestigious Andersen Prize in 1986) and, more recently, the 2014 Dante Graziosi for his lifetime achievement. Over 70 publishing houses for which he has published, including the most important; Einaudi, Feltrinelli, Mondadori.
